98 camry problem

After came to complete stop, I'm applying more gas to move. The RPM is showing around 3 but car moves very slowly and gives more noise. After around 7 seconds (some times it takes more time), I can see picking up. is there any problem with this car? I have no knowled on cars. I suggestions before i go to dealer.
98 camry, 80k miles, 4 cylinder auto.

Exclamation

Sounds like a torque converter or belts slipping in the transmission, either way I wouldn't recommend a dealer unless you have really deep pockets. Take it to a couple of transmission specialist and let them give you a quote, then call dealer and ask what they will do it for. You may just have a clogged transmission filter!

Yep. Sounds like the transmission or Torque converter. I would take it to a transmission place and NOT THE DEALER!
