Reman advance auto parts axle with plastic wire ties
Im replacing right front half shaft axle and got reman from advance and inner joint is assemblied with plastic wire ties that hold it together when installed to the center shaft with the allen bolts .instructions say cut ties after you install two of the allen bolts and remove them. I tried and couldnt get the ties to pull out so I loosened the allen bolts and the freeking ball fell out
. advance took it back as defect but I know it was my fault . are all new and reman axles assembled like this for the Camry or is it the discount part. and any tips for install is appriciated thanks again rob |

Re: Reman advance auto parts axle with plastic wire ties
If you want your Toyota to last and run the way it was designed, best to use Toyota parts.
Recently replaced the passenger side (rt) axle on a '94 with Toyota remanufactured - ran around $132 US. - no plastic ties found. However, the manual does call for replacing the bearing lock bolt and snap ring as "non resuable" parts. Old bearing lock bolt was apparently reused by the prior mechanic. The old one wasn't working anymore, so there's a reason they're supposed to be replaced. |
