Question Airbag codes

Greetings all .....

I'm new here, first day, first post!

I recently aquired a 97 Ford Aspire. Don't laugh, it's actually not a bad car since I drive 70 miles a day on the freeway.

My question is if anyone here knows or would care to tell me where I can find out what a code 41 means on the airbag light means????

I've searched Google and some of the Ford sites, that's how I found this site, but so far have had no luck.

If anyone knows, PLEASE post or PM me.

Thanks, SD

I have been looking for codes for my Ford CVPI also. I found this page on the web for Ford Probe airbag codes. One can only assume that all Ford airbag codes are the same.

Air Bag Fault Code Table
AIR BAG DIAGNOSTIC MONITOR FAULT CODE PRIORITY TABLE
Priority Code Component/Fault Description
Highest -- No Air Bag Lamp - Inoperative Lamp Circuit or No Ignition Voltage to Diagnostic Monitor
| -- Continuous Air Bag Lamp - Diagnostic Monitor Disconnected or Inoperative
| 12 Low Battery Voltage
| 13 Air Bag Circuit or Crash Sensor Circuit - Shorted to Ground
| 21 Safing Sensor - Not Mounted on Vehicle Properly
| 22 Safing Sensor Output Circuit - Shorted to Battery Voltage
| 23 Safing Sensor Input Feed/Return Circuit Open
| 24 Open in Circuit 944B or Low Resistance in Crash Sensor(s)
| 32 Driver Side Air Bag/Safing Sensor Circuit - High Resistance or Open
| 33 Pin 7 Not Grounded at Diagnostic Monitor
| 34 Driver Side Air Bag/Safing Sensor Circuit - Low Resistance or Shorted
| 35 Low Resistance Across Pins 8 and 9 at Diagnostic Monitor
| 41 Crash Sensor Circuit - High Resistance or Open
| 44 RH Crash Sensor - Not Mounted to Vehicle Properly
| 45 Center Radiator Crash Sensor - Not Mounted to Vehicle Properly
| 46 LH Crash Sensor - Not Mounted to Vehicle Properly
| 51 Diagnostic Monitor Internal Thermal Fuse - Blown and Short to Ground No Longer Exists
| 52 Backup Power Supply - Voltage Boost Fault
| 53 Internal Diagnostic Monitor Fault
Lowest -- Rapid Continuous Flashing of Air Bag Lamp - All Crash Sensors Disconnected

I found this chart at http://webcentrix.net/probe/service/airbag-fault.html
I hope this helps.

Re: Airbag codes

Hey there, thanks for the info !!

I too found that page through Google. I'm also guessing that all codes are the same for all Ford's although I'm not completely sure they are.

I'm hoping someone here can verify yay or nay.

Thanks again, still searching .......................

I'm not sure it is good for all Fords but it was right on the money for my 94 F150! Found at last. Being new here I'm not sure if this is the place for a follow up question, but here goes, my fault code was 51 KFModule, I guess you're not suppose to wash them, very long story. When I replace this module will the system automaticly reset itself, upon no error completion test, ie next ignition cycle. If you are unable to reply by the time I get the replacement module installed, I guess I'll know the answer. In any event Much THANKS.

Re: Airbag codes

Hello, sorry for bumping something old, but I think this is my answer.

My airbag light blinks three times, and then two times. Does this mean it's error 32? Also it's a 94 F150, so I assume these codes are correct, since rwh1959 mentioned it worked for him.

Also, if it does mean 32, then what does "Driver Side Air Bag/Safing Sensor Circuit - High Resistance or Open" translate to into dollars?

PPS - Whenever I detail my interior my airbag light comes on, and goes away after a day or so. I assumed it was always moisture. I haven't washed my car in a while, so I am worried, here. Perhaps I should be worried when I wash my car, too!

Re: Airbag codes

hey i have a 97 ranger its flashing code 12, meaning low battery voltage, could this mean my battery is just on its way out? or what does that code actually usually mean?

Re: Airbag codes

Excuse me if I'm making an error. I'm trying to figure out how to use the forum.
I read a brilliant remedy on this forum for airbag error code 27.
I have a 98 Ford 4x4 and I just replaced the lamps in the display. Now I have an error code..maybe. The light blinks twice then five times. Is that a 25 error code?
I turned the passenger airbag back on and the light does light when I turn the key but the switch will not allow me to turn the bag off now.
Also my battery will soon need to be replaced. It isn't holding a charge very well. I'm thinking that I first need to put a new battery in the truck and then see how the airbag system responds. What do you think?
Thank you for taking the time to reply.
