2 ohm

im kinda still confused... this is my question:
can 2 two dual voice coil subs be wired into a 2 ohm load?

i have the 2 kicker compvrs 4 ohm model and i hav them into a 4 ohm load.. but i think i should switch them to 2 compvrs 2 ohm model so i can wire them into a 2 ohm load cuz my kicker kx600 is stable down to 2 ohms and pushes out twice as much as power.. or tell me if it will even matter cuz i hav the subs loaded into 4 ohms together so my amp is only at 300 rms betweeen them and if i get the 2 2 ohm and wired them to a 2 ohm load then ill have 600 rms goin to both them.. help

help me .. sorry if its confusing ..

Re: 2 ohm

2 dual 2ohm subs can be wired to 2ohm, 2 dual 4ohm subs can't, so yes I'd say it would be a good idea to switch. That's only if it would be free (like a 30 day grace period from wherever you bought them), if it would cost money then I would recommend switching subs entirely.

Re: 2 ohm

Wait, are those subs dual voice coils? If so then you can wire them down to 1 ohm if your amp can take it. Or, run the amp 2ohm stereo.

it's a mono amp that's only stable to 2ohm

Re: 2 ohm

That sucks to have a mono amp only able to run a 2ohm load!
