I beginning to research the Tacoma. I've been to Toyota's website. If anyone can recommend links to help me get up to speed, I'd be grateful. I'm especially interested in the reg cab 4x2. The '05 looks sharp, and it's bigger, but I'd like to look at the used scene before I consider new. Thanks much.

True. And I noticed on Toyota's website that a 4x2 reg cab taco starts around $13,880. I think I can hazard about $16k on this purchase, which means an '02 or an '03 is possible.
