lower bass is the deeper notes in the songs, higher bass is the mid notes in the songs. Deep bass is used for rap and classical and the songs with low notes. high bass is used for hard hitting quick notes on rock. If your deep bass is hard hitting some people will still use it for rock also.
I would go with the MTX 12 if you are looking for power for a sub, yes I don't think pioneers are that great, so it will be cleaner and louder of a subwoofer, but also look around. JL has some great subwoofers, Audiobahn Flame Q series hit pretty hard. Excursion hit deep and hard. Diamond audio has some pretty good stuff. There are some good subwoofer names out their. Avoid pyramid, boss, legacy, profile, pioneer, sony, and lanzar if you want pretty good quality power or thump.

i would take Pioneer over any MTX for sound quality.

lower end usually refers to 40hz and below while upper bass refers to 40 and up. really depends on how u look at things.

i agree on the pioneer thing. pioneers a pretty damn clear. 2 low end subs should sound better than 1 high power sub.

depends on the high power sub, but I don't consider MTX high power

true there are some verry high watt sobs that do sound verry good. just in general you can get better results per watt with 2 subs over 1
