Cool

Where do I begin?

First lets start off with my box...... Dual ported 10" box, made especially for Diamond Audio Sub's, which only was only $50.00.

Head Unit, Pioneer Deh-6400, $230.00

Two Audiobahn 600 watt a peice flame series subs. Great Deal, only $150.00 for the two of them.

Audiobahn 400 watt 6x9's, 225 watt RMS, $80.00

Audiobahn 240 Watt 6 1/2's, 120 watt RMS, $85.00

Tweeters Mounted on my two front doors (pictures I have are from older pioneer's)

Amplifier running my current system is a Boss (fantastic amps!!!) ripper-995, 2000 watts of PURE POWER! $225.00

I'm adding a Boss 200 watt chaos amp to run my two front component speakers.

FUSION 1 farad digital capacitor $90.00

Wires and fuse terminals are courtesy of Stinger Audio (not sure of price)

Installation was pretty high for me......had to do some custom cutting and stuff for the tweeters and component speakers.

You guys can add it up....I dont feel the need to, but here are some pics for you.

Boss Amplifier 150 dollars
new spekers around 50 for 2
(edit) I forgot about Box costs 180 for all the supplies etc.

wish list
Audiobahn amp 590 dollars
audiobahn comps 50 each 75 custom install
audiobahn 2 ways 50 each
audiobahn set of tweeters or more comps, same as above

I screwed up on audio the first time through, but I am liking my audiobahn equipment I have now. Blew out all stock speakers and I need new speakers to replace some aftermarket speakers
I sold my audiobahns, I bought a GXA1000D and some CDT 6.5 coaxs. I am going to buy a new headunit and a HC15 with a ported box. I am also planning on buying some components for the front. so I have about 800 left to spend

Re: how much have you spent

well..everything i have now is worth prolly 500 if i bout it all only. But i had some really crappy 15's and a pretty good size crappy optimus amp that i sold for twice of what i paid for them, so im about 220 in the hole from where is started out from...considering i got each of my subs for 90 bucks a piece and there each worth 200+ at any dealer not on the internet, and i paid 120 for my RF amp which is a 250 dollar amp and my local retailer.

so basically... THeZeb and soundomain..kick ass

i don't know why, but i seem to buy on impulse, i look at this one product for weeks, but once they show me something even in the same level i'll go for it, i haven't got everything, but by next week i'll have everything.....

Alpine 9807 head unit $220
Pioneer REV 6.5 $90
Pioneer 5 way 6x9 $75 (not yet)
Kicker kx600.1 600x1 @ 2ohm amp $240
Kicker 200.4 50x4 amp $190(not yet)
2 12' Sony p5 explode $120
Sealed box for 2 12's $35
Wires, fuses, etc $40

so total... $1010? i think..
not the best system, but it sounds pretty loud and clear when i turn it up, also im going to replace the subs soon, and either make my own ported box, or order a custom ported box based on the specs of the subwoofers i get

aside from my head unit, and the amps, what i really was aiming for was..
infinity 6.5 3 way + mb quart component tweeters (all for the front)
mb quart dte 169
2 12' Alpine type R or Kicker comp VR in a custom ported box
if i actually do buy all that it'll add another $500-$600 to what i already spent.. so sad =(

Re: how much have you spent

right now i have 2 cheap legacy 15's at $80 for two but i got 4 bkuz the shipper messed up, and two cheeap legacy amps a 1600 for $130 and a 600 for $90. my head unit is pioneer it was $170. the wiring kit is JL audio it was $100. for the installation it was $300. so roughly around $800. my system is cheap because i came into the game knowing nothing about this. but now that i do the next system i buy is going to blow the roof off my car and the ear drums out of competitors =D!!

Most of the people here are more into sound quality than just sheer output, so the point is to get a substage that can blend with the front stage, not just get something that is too loud to listen to. That being said, my setup has the ability to dip into the 140's, I don't exactly consider it quiet.

lol i think that is stupid, we all get our systems for US TO hear not for EVERYONE ELSE to hear, if ur going to compete sql or spl then start a thread that says competition, i think for $1010 my system is good enough for ME not other people, thats why front speakers are also more important than rear speakers, who cares what people in the back hear, its what you hear

Re: how much have you spent

to compete in the db drag, you're going to invest a lot of money and time into it. not exactly cheap at all.

Many people in db drags are very competitive and they generally use the B&K mics (at least for the finals they did).

if you're use to getting 150s at the local shop with their regular AC mics, don't be so surprised if u compete and only score a low 140.
