Looking for a sub
Right now my system consists of 2 12' Kicker L5's they're ok but i want something better. I have a HiFonics Brutus 1500bx. Pretty good amp for the price. I'm looking into something that will have better sq and that i can b FELT coming down the street. I was thinking 1 15 in a ported box. Any suggestions?

Re: Looking for a sub
Adire Audio Tempest, but good look finding someplace that has one in stock, I couldn't.
Or any of the 15" subs from REaudio.com, they're all pretty good. I just ordered a 15" .se from there, so I haven't gotten it yet. Therefore I can't personally recommend it, but it seems to be very popular around here.

Re: Looking for a sub
im considering returning these VRs that i just got for a new tempest or atlas 15 from ascendant.. but either way thats too much power for the tempest..
an SX 15 (or 18) might be pretty nice though.. but still its hard to make any suggestions w/o a budget so get back at us man

Re: Looking for a sub
Yea you're right, that is too much wattage for a Temp. If he has the cash though, he could go with a 15" Brahma, but we don't know his budget.

Re: Looking for a sub
yeah man if youre willing to spend about 450 you could get a brahma 15 from adire.. (www.adireaudio.com)
awesome SQ and very nice SPL so ive heard.. i dont think ive ever heard anything bad about this sub.. ask anyone who runs one.. theyre awesome i know if i had that much i would drop the $ for it in a heartbeat. but still lets get a budget so we dont have to make guesses

Re: Looking for a sub
two l5 12's have a lot more cone area then the tempest. With your amp I'd reccomend an SX 15" from RE audio.

Re: Looking for a sub
LMAO. Sony.
the SE 15" driver would be great with that wattage. for slightly better SQ a XXX would be good. The XXX is louder then the Brahma but has higher inductance and there for is less efficent (takes more power to bottom out suspension). The Brahma is a very loud woofer but has some of the best SQ around. Since you are stepping up from Kicker DD would sound better, alot better. and their woofers, though less efficent, get VERY loud. They have some of the loudest woofers around (some of the most expensive also). Both the Brahma and the XXX 15's are around $450 the SE is around 300 i think (dont quote me on that, im not sure) and go to DDaudio.com and check out their price list. the DD3500 is a tad louder RE SE's but the SE's have slightly better SQ. but if you really want to bump invest into as DD9515e. But with the 9515e you will need some extra wattage. You may also want to look into Image Dynamics IDMAX. |
