Re: Can someone that knows alot about bass help

it's much better to ask the questions BEFORE you buy something that won't work for you. If you look at my signature line, you will see I am just spreading the gospel

Just as a side note, why 3 subs instead of 2 ?

Re: Can someone that knows alot about bass help

It's this one cat with a Avalanche around the way with a set-up similar to your idea...
He put (3) 13W7's in a box that's built-up in the bed and through the midgate...
He's got a 1000/1 pushing each sub, and an extra battery in the bed that looks
like it was built to power a Toyota Prius or an electric forklift or something...
sh?ts bananas yo, and it bang like crazy..! So I am kinda feeling where
you're going with your original ideas. I mean, it is a little smaller
scale-wise, but I still get it...

Re: Can someone that knows alot about bass help

it's not so much about how many amplifiers as it is about how much power...

Re: Can someone that knows alot about bass help

Oh, sorry I should have been more specific. Should I stick with the Hifonics Brutus BXi 1606D ( http://www.maxxsonics.com/hifonics/amps_brutus.html ) and have it powering all three subs at 1600 watts. Or should I do what that guy did and get three AMPs??

Re: Can someone that knows alot about bass help

i would get BXi 2006D only because the brutus line is not really there true output.

Re: Can someone that knows alot about bass help

Alright, so I think im going with the 2006D. (Thanks for the input) and I have a question that I already asked but nobody answered it. (its an opinion question). I want to know what yall think about this setup: is it going to be a windshield braker, or not very powerfull. I just want to know what yall think about it. Just type anything you want and let me know about how loud its going to be. (you can use a 1-10 scale if you would like to)
Im going to have three CM3's powered by one BXi 2006D.

Re: Can someone that knows alot about bass help

they're probably not goin't break your windows as-is, but (3) 12's right in the cab with you should pound hella loud inside and outside...
you also gotta remember, that box is pre-fab and not custom built for your subs, it could be nuts-on or it could be deviated too much...
even though your gambling a little, the chances are with you that your box is going to be close enough that your subs won't suffer...
personally I would find out how much the locals shops would charge to custom make a box, they should do it for roughly the same price...

Re: Can someone that knows alot about bass help

So they will make a custom box that fits just like the one I am looking at, have the size just right so that my subs will hit harder and they will do this for about the same price?? wow I thought that custom boxes costed a trash load. so if I were to get a custom box, do I just tell them the demensions I want and they will make it or would it be easier to show them a pic of what I want and explain what im wanting to do?

Re: Can someone that knows alot about bass help

the quality of the box and the install details are FAR more important than the actual equipment. NOTE - that doesn't mean you can buy crappola stuff and make it sound great, but good stuff can pretty easily be made to sound like crappola.

Re: Can someone that knows alot about bass help

Re: Can someone that knows alot about bass help

the reason you want a custom box is because the inside will be made to accomodate your subs perfectly, and the outside will fit your vehicle perfectly.
It doesn't have to be wild or radical, it just have to meet your needs...
