sigh... did anyone actually get helped in this thread?

Why not just buy an aftermarket CD player? You'll be happier in the long run....

Re: Acura Code Retrieval

I received No Help.
I don't think anyone really gets any help on this matter. I believe everyone eventually goes to the dealer for the code. I tried www.radio-code.com. That advertises on this site for the code. The code did not work. I will go to the dealership in the morning to stop the silence. No radio all weekend! The smart thing to do is go the aftermarket route or make sure you get the code when you purchase the vehicle. You will need it some day and probably during a 3 day weekend.

Re: radio code

why in the world would ANY car company put codes on their radios ? Although they are actually quite expensive, most people would rather have a $50 aftermarket unit they got at a flea market than the stock OEM unit. I can't ever remember hearing of anyone getting their stock headunit jacked.

Re: radio code

It's called making sure you keep business. Think about Mr. 50 year old don't know very much about car's but my car came with a Bose. For some reason his radio asks for the code. He calls the dealership and they charge him 60 or something for it. He is happy with his fixed radio and they're happy with the 60 they just made to do nothing. Dunno why people must do that...

people still jack them.(stock and aftermarket) people still buy them.(stock and aftermarket) Can't believe this thread got resurrected more than once either.

Re: radio code

Hello,
Picked up a replacement Bose radio for my Denali. Well, I'm stuck without the security code.
I've contacted the seller who does not have it anymore. I've contacted the dealer and they were of little help.
My biggest problem is that is is an RDS unit.
If anyone can help me, I would be most appreciative.
Here is the info on the unit itself.

Part number: 15169583
part of the UPS bars: 89DSAPM121703599

many thanks

Re: radio code

Paul lock this damn thread.

Does anyone read back through threads at all i see old threads pop up all the time with noobs and it gets really annoying. And did any one notice that no one got any help at all. Not being an ass or anything but seriously read a thread before posting, all of it not the last or first few posts.

Don't ever look at cars as just imports or domestics. Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota.
