Where to buy a Passport SRX?
Anyone know where I can buy an Escort Passport SRX radar detector? I am looking to buy just the unit and install it myself. The escort site says you can only get it installed at authorized dealers/car stereo shops.

many companies are going to that ...... so many people do it themselves just to try and save a buck, but they end up screwing it up and the company has to honor warranty repairs on it.

Re: Where to buy a Passport SRX?
I can understand why they only sell through authoized dealers. In my case however - I have a small car stereo "shop" that I run on the side. Been selling/installing for 10 years. Even got MECP certified last year. I would like to think I am capible of installing it just as good an authorized dealer, but cant say for sure since I have never done one before.
So I guess I cant buy one online? |

Re: Where to buy a Passport SRX?
I understand where you ae coming from -al- ..... but for every one guy that knows what he's doing, there are 1000 that don't. And unfortunately there is no real way for the companies to verify it unless they only sell to shops. I often have exactly the same problems, I don't mind paying some to do stuff I don't feel comfortable with but I don't want to pay a shop a "handling fee" when have no intention of using thei installation services.

If you're willing to pay the price for it here's one available on ebay for a few more days.
