Not the Talladega but another project:
1966 Chevrolet Chevelle The Kit: Ever since I started modeling I wanted this kit when I saw it at the local drugstore. I purchased this kit one or two years ago at Wal-Mart where I originally thought you could build a stock version as well. The kit comes with a flip nose, modified chassis, stock interior, a 427, and cool wheels/tires. PLANS: Exterior - Dark red? Interior - Three-spoke steering wheel. - Tubbed out rear w/ removal of rear seats? - Full roll-cage? - 5-point seatbelts w/ stock or racing seats. Drivetrain - Supplied 427 block, heads, rear-end, and tranny. - Supplied dual-carb intake manifold or single-carb intake w/ accompanied dominator style carbs. Other - New front subframe replacement. - New front independent front suspension. Here was the start of the new subframe: The subframe generally completed: Subframe mounted on the car: The construction of the upper and lower arms on my jig: Test fitting of the control arms, they were a bit flimsy: Well, any comments welcomed. I'm probably not going to finish this car, or any car for that matter any time soon. If a moderator goes through this, can you please rename the thread to "Honoturtle's 2005 Projects."

Re: PROGRESS: '69 Ford Talladega
These look awesome. I'm working on a 70 Torino Cobra myself. It's out of paint and in the compounding stage. Keep up this awesome work.

Well, renamed the thread as you asked. I like the scratchbuilt front suspension you've put on this kit. I wish you luck in building a good pro street Chevelle out of that kit, because good GOD the body contours are all wrong for a 1966 Chevy. Seriously, compare it to the Lindberg 1:25th scale '66 SS396 and you'll see just what I mean.
However, with a pro street project, a little bit of creative fender and roof resculpturing is expected. Make it turn out like Danny Scott's infamous 7 second Chevelle!

Thanks for the comments guys!
Layla's Keeper, the white paint on that thing is making me reconsider. And thanks for renaming this thread. I've also purchased a Lindberg '66 Chevelle, and completed it several years ago... here it is: Sadley, it managed to have lost a lot of it's parts. I'll build another one some day, once I find another kit.
