lights
I have this problem with my 95 525i - It looks like the problem relates to an aftermarket alarm system which I am tracking down - the previous owner must have had problems since the alarm horn is disconnected - Am affraid to tinker further until I know who makes the alarm - not on key-code.
Good luck |

Re: emergency lights wont stop flashing
I have this problem on my 2000 540i. My alarm system is not after market. The flashers will turn off on their own after a while. Not impressed.

Re: emergency lights wont stop flashing
Not sure if this will help, but on my 89 525 the hazard flasher switch is in the center console near the window switch cluster. After an inadvertant coffee spill, a few days later the flashers came on and would not stop.... I had already replaced the window switch cluster due to the coffee spill. I popped the switch top out and of course broke it.... but found the coffee residue inside.... cleaned it out with some cotton swabs, and snapped the switch cover back on.... no more unwanted flashing.... of course the switch won't latch closed anymore either, so you may want to just consider replacing it.... Like I said, I don't know if the switch is the same on the model years mentioned so far....
