Samurai Weber carb upgrade problem

Installed a Weber carb and a JC Whitney header onr my '86 to try and get a little more out of it. Very disapointed so far.

Not much difference in performance.
Car wants to stall on inclines...probably due to float problem????
Need to fit new air filter as stock air cover doesn't fit Weber well..any ideas?

Finally think I got the adjustments close, but had hard time with air mixture and idling issues.

Unless I am missing something, I don't think I would have done this had I known what a p.i.t.a. it would be. rewards certainy not worth the effort.
