wierd RPM issue with a 3.0 Fuel pump?
Hey guys, workign on my mother-in-laws 2001 3.0 V6. The car won't rev over 4K & can't get it past 40MPH. REminds me of a rev limiter in a gas power golf cart. Any extra gas pedal does nothing. It is setting codes for a lean fuel condition on both 1&2 banks. TPS seems fine, & fuel pressure sits right at 40psi. Are these supposed to be closer to 60PSI I have no clue.
I can hold the accelorater to the floor in park & it stops at 4K, not sure if thats part of the problem, of if these have a 4K rev limiter when its in park? Any ideas? |

Re: wierd RPM issue with a 3.0 Fuel pump?
My car has the exact same problem I already switched out the MAF and no go. The scanner shows that it has multiple miss-fires so they said it was a bad ignition module but to switch both to be safe. Both ignition modules have been change and still the same problem. I was thinking it might the fuel pump as well but my car has good fuel pressure. Now the only thing I can think of is problems with the torque converter? I read a while back that the torque converter in these cars engage at 3000 rpm and that's where the rpms stop, any ideads?
