Unhappy My car hesitates to start in the morning!

What could be the reason?

- Bad Battery
- Bad Fuel Filter
- Bad Fuel Pump

If it was for the last two, then why only in the morning.

Help is appreciated!

It' s a Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0L with Automatic Tranny.

Check your air filter, if those get clogged you get ahrd start problems. And also it could be your cold start injector.

BTW 4.0 LITER CHRYSLER STRAIGHT SIXES DONT HAVE A COLD START INJECTION OR FOR THAT FACT I HAVE NEVER SEEN A CHRYSLER JEEP WITH ONE.

THE RESON FOR THE COLD START IN THE MORNIGS IS DUE TO THE CHECK BALL IN THE FUEL PUMP NOT HOLDING GAS IN THE LINE AND OVER NIGHT IT ALL LEAKES BACK INTO THE TANK SO WHEN YOU GO TO START THE CAR IT IS JUST GETTING AIR FOR A FEW MINS UNTIL THE PUMP PUSHES GAS TO THE INJECTORS

I HOPE I HAVE HELPED YOU OUT

Thanks Man and Old88

Well, I tell what I did:

I got a pressure gauge and hooked it to the fuel manifold this morning. The pressure reading was ZERO psi.

I switched the car ON/ OFF then ON/ OFF (without cranking the car) and the psi went 10 psi up at each time untill reaching 33 psi then stopped their. A cranked the car and Wooo, start from the first time.

I believe it is the Check Valve (if any is going Bad)

I cannot think of anything else.

BTW: Why the pump do not keep running after turning power ON. In this way it will keep the line pressurized w/o the need to turning the switch ON/ OFF repeatedly.

Thanks Guys.

because if you were just sitting there with out the engine running listeng to your radio it would kill the battery and maybe burn the fuel pump up btw those fue lpumps are quite pricy
