1988 celebrity not down shifting
Vehicles not down shifting all the time, from 3rd to second gear. vehicle only has 102k.

May not be the same electronic transmission as the Chevy in this link, but it is probably time to take it to a garage. Don't worry, it is not always a serious problem. Let us know what you find out.

Most likely your downshifting problem is a bad vacuum modulator, or a bad vacuum supply line to it. If it will downshift manually, then the modulator valve/vacuum leak is the issue.

Just wanted to ask if the 3-2 downshift was the only symptom you noticed? Is the trans showing any other differences? Also, I believe you said it wasn't downshifting all the time. Sometimes it works properly? If not all the time is there a pattern such as " works cold and not hot" or the other way around?
