best tires?
well i have to blown tires on my gs-t and its time to get some GOOD ones. i was wondering, what are the best street/drag tires to put on a gs-t. there only going to be used during the summer so. the tires i have now are ventus hr2 which are alright but not when you get on the car. they just spin on 1st and 2nd and sometimes 3rd. any reccomendations as to good tires

There ya go...best tires ive ever used (Ofcourse I have only had those and the stock tires.....but still VERY good) P.S. They Hydroplain pretty easily at highway speeds.....so BEWARE of that....great street/strip tire though. |

I have heard really good things about the nitto 555s. I have been really happy with my nitto extreme performance ZRs (lasted 2 years and i got them howling around curves every day) and the kumho ecsta 712s, and the kumhos were very nicely priced. Both sets of tires that i had held really well and made for decient launches, but if you want like a drag tire for the street i would seriously look into the 555s.

Yea, Nitto's are pretty damn good. The Nitto Neo Gen's are supposedly one of their best, but I've never tried them.

Re: best tires?
will any of these tires help the tire spinning and some wheel hop? my car is in the shop and my buddy says that it will have a lot of torque, so i just want to be able to grip well. and the neo geos, will they be an ok tire if i take to the track. im a 19 yr old college student so i dont really have all the money to buy drag radials and street tires so im just looking for a good combination.

Re: best tires?
Well the Neo Geos can go 160 before they have the chance of blowing =D! I like them alot. They grip well and that. Non-Reversable tred on them.

Re: best tires?
if your getting wheel hop check out the thread about it on the main page. basicly you need to stiffen up your front suspension. also take whatever weight you can out of the back of the car and raise the rear tire pressure a couple psi

Re: best tires?
well i seem to only get wheel hop when the weather is hot or on certain road pavements. is that normal on in that case. i know an lsd would improve that alot. well looking at the neo geos, they seem like pretty good tires actually so im probably going to look into them. i have 215/45/17's. can i go bigger than 215, like 220 or 225. and should i keep 45's or go 40's or what? if i spend money on tires, i guess i better spend them the right way.

ok yea pzeros work good on a gsx and some other cars, but just let me say from my exp on tires on my gs-t never get toyo proxes fz4 THEY SUCK. the tire i have on my car on the stock rims are the best i have hade, and all my friends that drive my car want them Falken Azenis Sport those tires have help so much on my gs-t on getting off the line with out spining, i luached off the line at 4k and never spun a tire, they do make more road nosie than some tires but who cares. Some people might say they suck in the rain, but unless you race in the rain then these tires help so much.

Re: best tires?
well my buddy has those tires on his integra gs-r and yeah he runs mid 10's but he dumps his car really high and never spins or anything. are they a reasonable tire. so now i have the nitto neo geos and falken azenis now i gotta narrow it down. but can i really go any bigger than 215 on my rims. they came with 215's on the package.

Re: best tires?
nittos suck arse (their compound is a peice)
Kumho Ectsa MX are the best tire that is reasonable in the wet, costs a reasonable amount, and available in a good selection of sizes.
