Talking Help? - Paasche booth Motor specs

Hi guys,

Been "lurking" here for awhile, getting myself edu-macated... really diggin' the models I've seen on here so far. This is BY FAR the best site I've found, and it's a great resource for "newbies" like myself.

I'd like to build my own spray booth, and want to avoid "fumes across the motor" risk. I noticed that the Paasche HSSB is built with a "pole-blower" fan assembly which makes sense - separate the motor from the airflow. So I thought I'd sort of reverse-engineer the HSSB, at least the blower/fan assembly. I know the the pole fan/blower assy. is 115AC/60HZ.

What I'm really looking for is the manufacturer and/or part number(s), if they are visible on the assembly. There should be one part number for the motor and one for the blower.

If any of you all have the HSSB - could you take a look and post?

Thanks!!

Hi Chevyvan,

Like you, I've been "lurking" around AF, checking out some fine builds by some very talented modelers. A lot of really good information here.

I don't have the information you specifically requested, but my experience with obtaining specs from "manufactured" hobby booths hasn't been good. Either the spec's aren't included or they (the manufacuturer) won't tell you.

Anyway, in case if you have any difficulty getting the info you're looking for, here's a link to an article I wrote about spray booth design (http://modelpaint.tripod.com/booth2.htm). It'll take you through all the calculations to choose a fan, with some fan's listed in the back.

HTH,

Klaus

Hey Klaus,

I've already got your plans! Your's were the 1st I found.

I've got the dimensions of the Paasche unit already so I guess I could calculate the CFM requirement.... DOH!

But Thanks Again!

Steve
