Hmmmm...4...no....6..no...7?....no, that's not right either.....8? yea that's the way

Tisk tisk tisk, you people are embarrasing me because we all know that if you would have spent your money wisely and got every "bang for the buck", then we wouldn't be arguing in this forum at all. If you people would approach the situation the smart way you would have invested yoru $25,000 into something that could be much faster and has been proven over and over again to be faster. I'm talking about going domestic you kiddies. True, there is nothing more exciting than seeing the factory boost gage in a vr-4 going to 14 psi and the car itself scooting down and taking off. I would know this because I know someone that owns a pristine black 97' with nitto's all around. With this car's ellegancy comes something greater, a push-rod Chevy v-8. Now these motors are cheaper and faster naturally aspirated and you can find a chevy small block almost anywhere you look- whether it is in a camaro, chevy truck, or a classic(far more cheaper than any import). So ask yourself this (and your wallet), why am I paying more for less horsepower? And if anyone decides to refute my allegations, please feel welcome. So now that Chevy has everyone at Mitsubishi, Honda/Acura, Nissan, and every other company including most domestic companies in check, lets say we twin turbo a chevy small block or big block. What does this equal? Horsepower that will reach well over 600 when tuned down. Now remember as I do respect and love vr-4's, there will always be Chevrolet to conquer all of you "Mo-trucka's".

Funny, buts its true. The cheepest speed out there is domestic. On that note, my next car is going to be a 3rd gen F-body with a TT LS1 and a K1 Evoluzione II body kit on it. Cant wait till i get around to building it. Under 25 grand, with a supra/ferarri/some other shit look, american muscle sound, and 10 second 1/4 mile, maybe even lower.

All I have to say is that engine is Chevy. Sure it is more powerful then a Japanese engine, but at least the imports don't often fall apart. All we see at my friends shop is mostly domestic cars coming to get fixed. You will hardly ever see an import, unless it is over 130k. We mostly see Pontiacs and Chevy's. Chevy motto is like a rock. What does a rock do, doesn't it just sit there, doesn't move. The engine may be cheaper and more powerful, but how does it hold up on the cars it is supposed to be for. I wonder why the engine is cheaper.

Yay for the import kid. The reason why you see more domestics is because they typically are older domestics with a lot more miles. At least thats what Ive seen. And when they do break they are still easyer and cheeper to fix. And you cant say im a domestic preacher, as I own a VR4. But I also have a chevy in the driveway with 131k on it. The only maintinance so far are the brakes and heater core. Other than that It has just been oil changes, and I only do that every 7500 miles. So for an engine that cheeper, its holding up very well considering I beat the shit out of thing. I would like to see an import of the same age hold up to the shit I put thing through.

I am not saying all the domestics are bad i am just saying they break a lot faster then imports. I own a mustang cobra and just traded in my f-150. If you buy trucks u gotta buy domestic other then that if you want a reliable car after 60k go import. I don't want to sound like an ass, but wtf are u doing not changing the oil until 7500. Either you pulled that # out of you ass or just wanta f*ck up the car. The reason they are so cheap to work on is that sooo many people have that car so the prices on the stuff are so cheap. A camero costs less because they are worked on so much. Hondas (the anti christ or cars) are so easy to fix just like any other domestic because the parts for them are so cheap because everyone has them. They dont have to order out of the country for some parts.

Ill give you most of what you said. Except the part about the oil. Have you ever checked your service manual for recomended oil changes. Mine says every 7500 miles, unless 1 of 4 things are met. I dont meet any of those 4 things so why would I waist my money changing it any earlyer. My vr4 only gets an oil change every 5000 miles, which is actually sooner than the manual says to. If you do some research into oil filters you will find out they have a performace curve. They dont filter the little crap out until after they get clogged with big stuff, and that doesnt happen until around 3000 miles. So if you change your filter at 3000 miles you are leaving a lot of the small stuff in your engine. If you run syntetic you dont have to worry that much about the oil breaking down due to heat or time(within reason), so there is no reason I would think of changing it before 5000. If I was running regular oil I would change that every 2500 and the filter every 5000.

Yo JoeB i think you need to grow up a little before you go and talk about turbocharging cars. Nissan has made many factorie turbocharged cars, Early model 300ZX Turbo, 240sx with SR20DET motor, 200SX, Skyline, Japans Silvia.. ect
Dont talk unless you know what you are talking about plz you make yourself look like an idiot.

I'll bring out my brother's stealth r/t aginst any MAXIMA any day of the weak. As for turbo's, every engine that nissian has ever made (that worth a sh*t) is turbo. Case in point, SR, and RB motors are some or the hot engines on the market. So eat dust and take a wiff of my exhuast!!
