Question Question....car died on freeway???

Okay, maybe someone can help me figure this out? I have a 91 stealth that I was driving on the freeway and just died. The engine turns over, it is getting fuel, has spark, has compression but the engine won't compression start. Does anyone know what could be the problem? Thanks!!!

Re: Question....car died on freeway???

Do you have an base, RT, or RT twin turbo? Also manual or auto? And did you get any noises or check engine lights when it died?

It is a base, manual with 43,000 miles. It didn't make any noises when it died.......almost like it ran out of gas. I think the check engine light came on? The engine will turn over, no problem, but won't start. It won't even compression start. Do you know if it has a hall effect assembly? And, if that fails? Would I still get spark? I appreciate any info. Kevin

Re: Question....car died on freeway???

It could be a lot of things... Mine did that when the timing belt broke (the dealer changed it 2 days before and it broke in a different town so I brought it to a different dealer to rebuild on the first dealers expense...)

You will have to go through the standard check: Air, fuel and spark and then go from there.

Re: Question....car died on freeway???

if the check engine light came on, you can pull the problem code to help diagnose the problem.

Here's how:
