Integra GSR sedan with 130,000 mi not wise?
Would it be a bad decision to get an Integra GSR sedan with over 130,000 miles on it? I ask that because where I live it is difficult to find an Acura Integra GSR. I have $8900 towards a car.

Don't get it...IMO, If he is askin 8900, I think you could get something with less miles, and not a 4 door. Just my opinion

Sorry i forgot to say. This is car will cost me $5000. I want a car that is fairly fast, but I also want a car that gets good gas mileage and won't be killer on my insurance. Does the Integra GSR have high insurance?

will, I pay about $80 a month for a 99 GS-R 2 door on insurance, and that is full coverage. But $5000 for a 4 door, that isn't to bad. Don't settle though. You say you have like 8900 saved up. You could put that on a down payment on a Type-r or a newer GS-R, but I am just giving you my opinion. You can find something newer.

if it was me i dont think i would buy something with so many miles but then again i would use the other 3900 to do a swap to get a b18c5 motor (type-r) you might have to add a little more money to that but shouldnt be much more i think you can find them on ebay for around 4000 or buy a newer b18c motor (gsr) but if you arent going to do a swap thats alot of miles for 5000 just how i fell it your money

From what you've stated, this car seems to fit your needs very well. Sedans can be very usefull, and the insurance is lower on them. I say go for it! $5000 seems to be a reasonable price; though you never did state what year it is. Since it has so many miles, you could probably talk them down a few hundred. Try to do a Car Fax on it. For some strange reason, I like Fast 4-doors.
IMHO: Buy It |

I have a '95 GS-R sedan and i love it. i only have 100K on mine but i paid 12000 for it 2 years ago. It gets great gas mileage....i think i get 33 miles to the gallon. and besides the AC not working.....as you will find with most.......it's been a very dependable car. and yes it is fast

130K isnt really all that bad. I would search around for one lower first and if you dont find anything at all,THEN i would go for it.

mine has 133,000 miles and check out my 1/4 mile... (and that's up here in Salt Lake City where a stock 99/00 Civic Si usually gets between a 16.7-16.9).. these GS-R's are tough! And the 4dr is nice for hauling kids or people around. As long as you keep up on maintenance you shouldn't have any problem with anything on this car.
I will say that I have had to replace my clutch but that was after I took it to the track and did about 8 full blown runs, power shifting like a retard, basically trying to screw it up so I could get a new clutch in it. But that's it, and it was my own fault... so, I'd say, if you find one for $5k with 130k miles .. that's a steal.. I would think if I was going to sell mine... I'd ask $5500-5750. So $5k is a great deal for such a sweet car!

I have a obd1 GSR Sedan and I got mine for 5600. Totally thrashed out. i mean, it was sooo ugly i didnt drive it for awhile lol. Go to the JDM forum, my story is in there..prepare to laugh
anyway if the car is clean, I think its worth the money. i have a jdm dc2 b18c motor in my car and I sol dmy GSR for 3100 installations included. it's not bad if you're into fixing cars up...it's more of a hobbie and a challenge. If a GURL can do it..so can you |
