Lightbulb Radio**check engine light controls

Hi, I need to know if there is any product i could buy that would allow me to keep control of my warning lights on the dash if i were to change to an aftermarket radio. I spoke with Chevy and Crutchfield and they both said that if i were to replace the factory stereo, I would lose the ability to reset the light on the dash, I just wanted to see if they are correct.

Thanks a bunch,
Jason

Re: Radio**check engine light controls

The oil change light can be reset without the factory radio by turning the key to "on" and fully depressing and releasing the accelerator 3 times in 5 seconds.
The low tire light can be reset by turning the key to on and pushing the headlight knob fully forward then pulling fully back 3 times in 5 seconds.
Otherwise, there are harnesses available that allow you to move the factory head unit to the trunk, so you can still use it to set everything.
