Happy New Year, CVMS 10 years...

Happy New Year!

Sunday at 9 AM, CVMS will celebrate 10 years in business!

I would like to thank all here and elsewhere that have patronized and supported us in that time. There are a lot of you!

Since the majority of our work is directly related to muscle cars, and Pontiacs in particular, I felt this was a good place to say this.

Our customers have proven over time, our "approach" to making power and longevity is as good or better than ANYONE else's in our "niche" market. We couldn't have "done it" without them!

We can "lay claim" to some of the most powerful Pontiac and Chevy engines in their respective "classes" found anywhere. Dirty Bird sat "on top" of the Pontiac perch for nearly two years and showed significant and consistent performance. We may actually be the first folks in over 40 years to WEAR OUT a blown/alcohol Pontiac without blowing it up. The pistons that were in it on the FIRST pass, were in it on it's 40th. That 40th pass put the connecting rods into the "danger" zone, so it's down for a full rebuild. BTW, for the "you can't rev a Pontiac" crowd, Big Chief Firewater (what wee affectionately "named" the fist engine in Dirty Bird) saw 9,200 on every pass, and touched 10K on more than one occasion. New heads coming, too, that should add another 200-300 HP. (always looking for sponsors!) But that "little" Pontiac (it's only 475 CID compared to the 525 Hemis we race against) has clearly "woken up" some of the Hemi crowd, that there really IS a viable alternative. It was the first Pontiac in the 6.50s. It was the first Pontiac in the 6.40s. Butler Performance now has the "perch" with their awesome '63 Tempest "ProMod". They're in the 6.20s now. No one else has come close to our 6.40s. We're gonna give a "whack" at being the first Poncho in the 5s!! Wish us luck!

Thanks to automotiveforums.com for allowing me to be a part of this huge and excellent site.

A happy and prosperous 2011 for all!

Jim

Jim congrats for sure and your input here has been great, hope we can keep going with all we both are involved in. My part time resto business was great this year as I mechanically rebuilt 4 cars, 55 Chev. p/u, 59 Dodge Coronet, 55 Chrysler New Yorker and 47 Chev p/u.
