79 l82 corvette
my friend owns a 79 corvette with the l82 in it. he is wanting to supercharge it, and he is making some progress on that. im just not sure his engine can withstand any boost. how much (if any) do you all think he could run, without reinforcing some stuff first.

I believe the L82 uses a forged crank, steel rods and has screw in rocker arm studs. If any of the engines from that era could handle a blower it would be the L82. You should do some independent research. By the way the compression should be low enough also.

Make sure you verify my information. I think I heard somewhere that the L82 use the "pink rods".

I did some checking and from what I can tell, the L82 has 4 bolt mains and a steel crank. I have read two different sources and one says they also had forged flattop pistons. I would be surprised on the pistons. I also am pretty sure about the screw in rocker arm studs also.

Forged pistons would be better.
