4.6 sohc.
When i start up the engine(cold) Their is a loud clicking sound. And when it is doing this it looks like the belt is going to jump off the crank (Harmonic balancer)and the belt tensioner is jumping! Once the motor is warmed up it stops. The harmonic balancer is wobbling somewhat. Could the balancer be the problem? Thanks |

Re: 98`p71
It could definitely be a problem! If the harmonic dampener (these engines are internally balanced) fails, the belt will slip off, and who knows what can happen with a flying off harmonic dampener.
Replace it if necessary and use a brand new bolt since it is a one time use torque-to-yield bolt.

Re: 98`p71
Thanks for the reply.
I think that the crank pully is the problem. Thanks again |
