I just finished a new design for my site, Supercar Central. The url is http://www.supercarcentral.com/main2.php3
Is the new design better than the old design?( http://www.supercarcentral.com ) What could I add to the new design to make it better? What could I remove from to the new design to improve it?

i must say that is what i was talking about except for 1 thing -- that banner must go below the main content, also, that rollover blue doesn't quite match the rest. but it's a great color, so if i were you i would just change the links to be that color.

The banner is required to be with 500 pixels of the top of the screen, so I can't put it below the content. I'll try changing the link color to see what it looks like in a few minutes.

i still like the first one better. one thing you could do is put the banner at the same level with Supercarcentral.com text right above it, but the first looks much more professional. The only thing I would change on your site is make the Acura NSX or Porsche Boxster constantly up their instead of the Z8 and make the buttons matching the Acura or Porsche. The orange-red looks a little better than the grey, but that's just my opinion.

Adam, If I put the banner next to the page title text, it won't fit on lower resolutions and the text will wrap around, especially on long page titles. A lot of people still like the first one better. I'm trying to figure out what I could do to make it better than the first design. Thanks for your comments by the way.

i understand tho, but you can't do anything to make your first design better. It's better than any other design [tied w/ supercarsite.net] i ever came across! when I first saw the current design, i'm like "wow, i'm gonna make a site just like this" except i can't, but i wish i could. DON'T CHANGE IT!

i must admit yours is tied w/ theirs i used to want to join both of your sites!
except for one thing: i liked your old car thing better. I mean the same layout, but people like me who have a banner have a scrollbar next to the abcdefghijlkmnopqrstuvwxzy thingy, so it looks awful! take out that scroll bar and it will look great again! |

Adam, thanks for the positive feedback on our current design. You could help with SupercarCentral.com if you want to. We're looking for people who would like to write articles or cover auto shows for us.
As for Xtreemcars, I think your site is amazing Lotus! I love the design. It just looks so cool and original.

yeah, i haven't seen any sights AT ALL close to xtreemcars, but supercarcentral... supercarsite.net.....
and as for helping out at scc, well... I think i'll just stick w/ mine just because it's my personal site. a little about my site: It started out w/ 3 sections: cars & guitars included in late september, 2000, when i first learned html. I narrowed it down to one I added cars like crazy I have been through 8 major design changes and countless different smaller changes. just thought i'd share that. kinda interesting.. to me. Christian: how many sites do you have! I just came across jaguarcentral.com, you have xj220central.com, nissanz.net, supercarcentral.com... WHAT ELSE!!!!! |

Adam, those are my four main sites. I also have the domains yakimawebdesign.com and audicars.org, but haven't had the time to develop sites for them yet. I also have a few miscellaneous sites that don't have their own domains, but those sites aren't very good.
