any tips on shaving taillights

I'm shaving my tailights on my 95 gmc 1500, I have sir michaels fillers and I'm only 14 so I'll take any advice on the topic that you can give me. please help.

Use fiberglass or steel.

can i shave my trunk lock that way mike? my trunk lock hasnt worked since a week of ownership on my ga and i just wanna shave it cus I got a trunk release in the car. By the way I am getting a dual action air brush kit with a regulator for 2-30 lbs pressure for off the shop compressor am I on the right track for the kit?

I'm not mike but i think i can answer your question. I shaved my tailgate handle and door handles. What you want to do is buy some sheet metal and cut it so it sits as flush to the surface of the car as possible so you use as little bondo as possible. then weld in the sheet metal, and and start bondoing i would recommend finishing it with the ultimate body filler from bondo. And if you've never bondoed before then don't get discouraged. you'll think its perfect after 15 tries then you notice something, thats just the way it is. but if its just your key whole trunk release it should be fairly easy. hope that helps.

hey i just joined the site so im new to all of this but i was wondering about doing some shaving on the bumbers of my golf, i was just wondering if i should be using fibergalss or what and if so any tips or sites on how to apply it like what kind of backing am i going to need etc?
