IWC: Signature length

Before all of the fourms I used to post on had maximum signature lengths, for example you couldn't put more than 100 characters in your sig or anything like that and it irked me SO much... but AF I could put my car modifications and favorite weekly quote or crap like that without worry of signature charater restriction(s). I went in to take out my quote and add a new quote and there's a 250 character limit now!

I don't like it. I can't hardly put in ANYTHING now. I've got to put all my typing into graphics so I don't use up my character limit.

I would very much like to see the character limit lifted.

DO NOT REPLY TO THIS POST WITH YOUR SUGGESTIONS ON HOW THE PROPOSED CHANGE CAN BE MADE BETTER. START YOUR OWN IWC THREAD IF YOU HAVE AN IDEA ON HOW TO FURTHER IMPROVE AF AFTER THIS CHANGE PASSES OR FAILS.

I don't see what you're whining about - your sig's already WAY too long.
I vote NO.

I also voted "no". Your signature takes up nearly an entire page. I come here to read posts, not signatures.

And putting your words into graphics is even worse, as graphics are much larger than text (in KB) and so use more bandwidth and cause that annoying "Server too busy" message to pop up far more often.

I think there should be a limit of 6 lines in the sig, at a smaller font. I really don't like weeding through miles of sigs just to get to the posts I want to read.
A few lines=

Just an FYI: you can disable viewing all sigs in your profile.

I do want to see sigs, just not novels. I find reading someone's sig beneficial when trying to help them in a technical situation when help is asked about their vehicle or such aspects.

I like viewing peoples sigs, however I think a cap should be put on pixel size and how many kb it is.

That option shouldn't even be there Iggy. Myself and some of the other mods use that part to remind others to view the posting guidelines.

Actually it should be lines used instead of characters. Say 8 lines max. That will also limit the size of images used whicha also slows the loading of pages. If you can't say something simple in 8 lines of text then too bad.

I voted NO.

perhaps a different approach of only letting the signature show up only one time in a thread would be a happy medium to those who like to see the sig but don't want it sucking up the screen on every post.
