Coolant Question
Hey all,
I am not a huge car guy, matter of fact aside from installing the stereo equipment and driving it as fast as i can i really know squat about cars. Anyhow, my wife has an '08 Rabbit, bought brand new minus a few test drive miles. The car is barely 7 months old. Well the low coolant light came on. So I check and sure enough it's almost empty. My question is does this seem normal? We are going to the dealership tonight but I want to get some info before hand. Thanks. |

Re: Coolant Question
Its not normal; there must be a leak somewhere. The coolant level in the plastic tank should stay the same for a couple of years. Except it will always be higher when its warmed up, as the coolant expands when hot. If it were severely cold in your area, like -30°f, the coolant level should still not have dropped more than a few millimeters.
When you go to the dealership, be sure you come away with paperwork indicating you dealt with them; a receipt or invoice of some kind. |
