Re: YAMAHA tech3 yzr500'01
very cool !!! i really like the blue colour of yours
i am wondering what blue is it that you are using? cause it seemed more beautiful, sharper than mine. Since you're building Shinya Nakano's while mine is Olivier Jaques'. Surely it'll be awesome if we could put our build side by side and take pics of them ^^ (mission impossible ) |

Re: YAMAHA tech3 yzr500'01 update
Hello,
I've been working on the bike for a few days now, mostly putting cf on it. Here some pictures. Some parts are already cleared, other are still to do For the yellow I used a tamiya spray can. For the seat I used structure paint from tenco. Enjoy. |

Re: YAMAHA tech3 yzr500'01
The cf looks great. One question though what technique did you use on the seat?

The more layers you spray, the more structure you will get. If wanted, you can spray a colour on it afterwards. |

Re: YAMAHA tech3 yzr500'01
Not to get too off topic, but is there another option here in the states for "structured" paints? I've used the SMS stuff, but it's expensive and not the best results. Thoughts?

I have no idea. I used Tenco. I think this is a Belgian product but I'm not sure. It costs 15 Euro for 0.5 l spray can. |

I wouldn't expect you to know, given you're not here in the states! Just thought some of the other guys might know... Like the bike! Just got a pitwalk guide for this bike, so I might just have to pick one up on the cheap somewhere. Keep up the good work! Daniel |

YAMAHA tech3 yzr500'01 little update
I've been working on the bike for some days and made some progress.
After building a fully detailed M1, this straight from the box YZR500 is a lot of fun to build. I hope this build will prove that it is also possible off making a nice model straight from the box. The only thing added is the CF decal. I have the engine mounted in the frame after it received a wash. Some other parts are finished. Some progress will follow soon. |
