97 Achieva How to remove original ball joint
There are 3 large rivets on the control arm. I've ground off the heads on the bottom but still can't get them out. I don't have a torch or I'd try heating them. Any ideas at all would be appreciated.

Re: 97 Achieva How to remove original ball joint
i had a 92 olds royal 88 so i'm not sure how yours differs but when i replaced mine i had the sam problem. i just went to town on it with dremel disks and bits it took many hours to do and many firm whacks with a hammer. it also depends on the state of decay of the rivets i suppose.

Drive them out with a proper sized drift punch.
