Anyone out there know abow the Self inflating rear suspension system on a '98 Silouhette?

THe pump kicked on and would not stop and now the van is grossly jacked up in the rear and every pebble hit is felt.

Help!

I know it's been almost a month since you posted this, but I just found this thread for whatever reason.

Basically, I don't think there is anything you can do by yourself.... Looks like a trip to the $tealership to have it looked over.

Thanks for the reply. I actually figured out the problem on my own.

When I crawled under the van, I saw the mecanism that controls the leveling did not look right.

The mechanism, which is attached to the body, has a lever with a pivotable connection attached to the frame of the vehicle. The more weight in the van, the lever moves upward which starts the generator adding air to the suspension. Less weight, the opposite, deflating the suspension.

In my case, the connector corroded where it connected to the mechanism and broke. This was due to the connector (plastic) pivots on a metal (now rusted) ball.

I temorarily reattached it with the help of some adhesive (quick bond type glue) and yes, some duct tape.

Works great for now.

That's awesome!

Now if only our leveling system didn't sound like either an explosive passing of gas or *worse yet* one of those awful hondas w/no power and an exhaust that could make eardrums bleed! :o *lol*

Again, "congrats" on the DIY fixer-upper job!
