Re: What is fastest production car (from 0-60)?
the fastest production car in the world to 60MPH is the ford escort RS200...3.07 seconds out of a mid rear mounted 1.8 litre turbo 4 cylindar...it was made for rally and dominated 0-60 all around the world..it has 211hp per litre!!!!
This Car was used as a shopping trolley in europe as well as a rally car!!! |

Also, the standard Ford RS200 that could be purchased from Ford dealers, was never capable of the acceleration you've quoted. The model that did 0-60 in under 3 seconds was an evolution model. Only 24 of the evos were produced. |

Personally, I;m not sure whther or not it was production, there's a lot of controversy on that (somehow). But, I would say the TVR Speed 12. 0-60 of 2.45 secs in a wholly unmodified engine. Assuming it was "production" the stock engine made around 940 bhp (this is according ot later dino tests) all w/o turbos or superchargers! Bet your Hennessey or Lingenfelter can't do that. It has a V12 based on A LOT of F1 tech. Pretty sweet car even if it doesn't win this competition.

if the dauer 962 whatever is the fastest, then the other two cars that are exactly the same probably at least tie the dauer. the daur 962, dp motorsports 962, and koenig c62 are all just road-legal versions of the porsche 962 lm with ~600 hp. i'm pretty sure that none of those cars beat the rs200 evo or the hennessey viper.

and they are not the same..962 is flat-6, vette is a v-8, viper is a v-10.. 962 is a m/r..viper and vette are f/r...and the koenig is not the same as the 962..only dauer got permission to build a road verion of the 962 |

Re: What is fastest production car (from 0-60)?
I wasn't sure whether or not it was ever officially tested. The 2.45 secs that I quote was actually a mock up done taking every variable anyone could take into consideration (a lot of them I hadn't even heard of) with a very accurate program. Point is, that even if 2.45 is off the mark, it isn't by much, and that would edge the Speed 12 to the front of the pack.

well considering the orignal hit an acclaimed 2.9..and then fell back to low 3's..magaizines have guestamated the cerbera to have somewhere in the neighborhood of 3 seconds..but not 2.45
however tvr has no intention of testing the car, and neither has any second party tester..and there are only 3 cars anyways..all show cars..the car was simply a car built to improve tvr's image..not a car with any race or mass production goals Dauer = #1 |

Ok fine. You guys win, the Dauer 962 is the best 0-60. But TVR would have come in close second.
