disreguard my post the shaft they sent is the wrong one
I have to get a differenct joint that goes to the steering box |

For anyone considering a solid shaft replacement, I found this out from the makers while searching for one for my 98:
"We do not offer replacement shafts for '95-'98 models because of liability issues due to the shafts being integrated with the air bag system. An OEM replacement is probably about the only option. Thanks, Gil Evans Borgeson Universal" |

I have a 97 s-10 blazer sterring box either needs tightend up or is wore out, Ive been thinking about swapping the gear box with the zq8 since i need a new one anyhow. will doing the swap really help over stock. Iam tired of slop. thanks Brian

A way to see if it is the rag joint is pull the boot back at the steering column , turn the steering wheel back and forth only in the area there is play. See it the intermediate shaft starts and stops turning the same time u turn the wheel. Then pull the boot back at the rack, have an assistant turn the wheel or watch and see if the intermediate shaft turns at the same time the wheel does. if no assistant pull back the boot with a bungee cord and set up a digital camera on a tripod to record the intermediate shaft at the rack , give audible cues as to when turning the wheel.
