97 sidekick won't start

Just tried to start my 97 sidekick today and it won't start. It cranks but isn't fireing up. Any ideas?

For a while now it has been acting funny. Seems like if you didn't drive it for at least 30mins when you first started it that day it wouldn't start back without setting for a little while. Don't know if it needed to warm up or what. Sounds like something was acting up and has finally went out today?

Any suggestions?

just to throw in, you might want to check your battery
too, I've seen similar problems on other cars that ended
up stemming from a battery that can't take a full charge.

try turning off all electricals (radio, lights, dome, etc) and
see if that makes a difference. best luck to you!

I didn't put it in. My dad dropped the tank and I told him before giving $150 for a pump he needed to check to make sure the wire was giving 12v. He said it was and bought a pump and put it in and it started right up.
