03 altima 3.5
my car all of a sudden, it seemed, would choke and die anytime i was in drive with the accelerator depressed (stop lights, drive thrus). took it to the local shop and they replaced the catalytic converter, with both sensors. they gave me the car back and the moment i started it the rpms starting running wild, jumping from 2.5 to 1000. the car runs ok except it gains speed while coasting (I've gotten it up to 31 mphs without touching the gas!) took it back to the shop and they replaced the throttle body, costing me more and fixing nothing. please help.

Re: 03 altima 3.5
The Catalytic converters should have a warrenty of 8year/80K miles.
Were you covered? I would of had a back pressure test on your cats at a local muffler shop for a 2nd opinion. If bad http://www.catalyticconverterwarehouse.com is the place to buy OEM cats. $300 for a direct fit, consider an aftermarket cat instead. I wouldn't trust any service shops, the throttle body could of be cleaned. You should of came to AF 1st. Last edited by danielsatur; 01-15-2011 at 07:05 PM. |
