The next performance car after the GT?

I hope Ford builds the Shelby GR-1. Carroll Shelby rejoined Ford in the summer of 2003.

The Ford Shelby GR-1 reminds me of the Shelby Daytona Coupe. Only six Shelby Daytona Coupes were built.

Notice the air intake of both the Shelby Daytona Coupe and the Ford Shelby GR-1.

From the 1964 Goodwood Tourist Trophy. Phil Hill and Dan Gurney drove these race cars.

Dan Gurney drove this very Shelby Daytona Coupe.

Overall Le Mans winning prototype racer GT40 Mk II, 1965 F.I.A. GT World Championship winning Daytona Coupe, and the F.I.A. 289 Roadster.

George Saridakis designed the Ford Shelby GR-1.

Re: The next performance car after the GT?

I think the GR-1 definately has potential as a production car. I mean, Ford could, at the very least, make it hanbuilt or limited run and only build them to order so they dont experience heavy overstock like the GT. I dunno much about the GR-1 that would influence price, but would $250K be unreasonable?

The Shelby GR-1 would use a lot of parts from the mid engine Ford GT if it were built. This would help with costs.

The GT doesn't have a heavy overstock.

The GR-1 could go into production as a 2008 model.
