Chevy Lumina EGR issue

Hello,

I've been trying to troubleshoot the engine on my 2000 Chevy Lumina for a while now. We started out with error codes refrencing the PCV and EGR Valves and after replaceing both of those and replacing the PCV Valve's tube I am still getting error codes. Still related to the EGR valve and it seems to be causing a cylinder misfire. Any thoughts? Below are the most recent codes:

Details:Date: 08/13/2014
Code: P0305
Explanation: Cylinder 5 Misfire Detected

Date: 08/13/2014
Code: P1404
Explanation: EGR Closed Position Error (1997)

Date: 08/13/2014
Code: P0404
Explanation: "EGR ""A"" Control Circuit Range/Performance

Date: 08/13/2014
Code: P0341
Explanation: "Camshaft Position Sensor ""A"" Circuit Range/Performance"

Date: 08/13/2014
Code: P0446
Explanation: EVAP System Vent Control Circuit

Date: 08/13/2014
Code: P0401
Explanation: "EGR ""A"" Flow Insufficient Detected"

Thank you

Re: Chevy Lumina EGR issue

Assume you cleaned out the bores of the EGR and replaced the PCV valve as well? Which motor we talking about here?

Can you feel this misfire, or is it only indicated by the DTC? On the 3.1 #5 is closest to the EGR so that makes sense, if it's sucking air when it shouldn't.

New EGR, new gasket, I guess?

I've seen EGR bores on the "to intake" side loaded up with snot-like stuff when the PCV had been neglected AND the exhaust side was carboned up and not flowing much. I've actually seen where you could remove the EGR, plug the intake side, and start the motor, with no exhaust flow whatsoever coming out of the pipe. Also seen them run fine without plugging the intake port, as they were so sludged up as described. Make sure you're dealing with clean bores, for starters.

Remember any carbon dislodged when cleaning or inspecting is gonna wind up possibly making the EGR stick or not close properly if you leave it in there.
