Starting issues when hot...help please.
Hey all, new here.
1995 Delta 88, car runs and drives fine when cool, but when it's at normal operating temps, turn car off, it won't restart unless it sits for some time, usually 30-45 minute +. It will try to start, and run, but very poorly, almost like it's dieseling sometimes, and others it'll just crank. As per suggested by some mechanic friends, I've replaced the coil packs, ignition module, and coolant temperature sensor, yet the problem still presents itself. I tested the fuel pressure and it's fine as well. Any other ideas? Thanks! |

Welcome to AF. See if there is raw fuel in the vacuum hose at the fp regulator when this happens.

The regulator is on the fuel rail you will see a vacuum hose on it.

Yes. Look for raw fuel in the hose after a short hot soak.

Well I've checked a few times. Before, during, and after the issue and haven't seen any raw fuel. If I do happen to, what would I be looking at for a fix? And can you think of anything else it could be?

Re: Starting issues when hot...help please.
The press. regulator would be bad if raw fuel. When it won't start you must check for good blue spark at the plugs and proper fuel pressure at the rail, you could also try disconnecting the maf when this happens.

I had the same problem with my 1992 delta 88 it was a vacuum leak.
