97 ram 1500 sport 4x4 tranny problems HELP ME!
Hi, my names Ed. I have a 1997 dodge ram 1500 sport 4x4 with an automatic trans and the 5.9l magnum. My tranny has been giving me problems last month is decided it wanted to slip. Its been doing it since but it shifts and drives just fine except from second to third gear and only does it sometimes. I think i put a 1000miles on it and it still works but just slips like that. Also when im driving sometimes i feel it should kick down a gear to accelerate better but instead it just lugs. But i can deal with that this slipping crap is driving me crazy!!!!! I dont know what to do it doesnt seem like its going to blow up like my last dodge but its not going away? ANY CAN HELP ME I WOULD HIGHLY APPREACIATE IT!!!!

I'd try getting it flushed with a machine and have the filter replaced.

The machine is a lot easier, quicker and usually cleaner. You can flush 12-16qt of fluid through the trans in 10 mins. The filter you can do yourself after the flush.
