Dohc Zc

Just swapped out the stock Si motor in my 89 CRX Si with the DOCH ZC. We re-built the motor, bored .5, used integra pistons, stock si rods (good up to 200hp from what I understand), and everything is going smoothly except for one thing, whenever I first start the car a cloud of white smoke flows from the exhaust. It also happens when I first rev the motor. Any suggestions?

Its called water vapour, or steam not smoke.

If its only present upon start up, and when the air temp is cold, then dont worry about it. Its quite normal.

If its there all the time, then you need to worry. It could be a blown head gasket.

Doesn't oil that's burned up during combustion of the gas also produce white SMOKE?

Being an older engine, and custom bored out I could see it possibly burning up some oil when first cranked from a cold state.

Maybe I'm way off base on that though.

kingmike : does the "smoke" have an odor to it like burning oil or something burning, or not at all?
