i know that a grand am wasnt ment to be a race car but its all i got and i want it to be faster it is a 95 3.1l v6 i got a short ram cold air intake and modified exaust. i was wondering if i port and polished the intake manifold and heads how much power would i bee gaining and is it even worth it? i was wondering also if i could just take the heads of 3.4l pontiac cause i believe the blocks are the same? if i did would that help me i also looked at some cams looks affordable but what should i get? any help appreciated.

http://www.doctorspeed.com/grand_am/...ttle-body.html http://60degreev6.com/store/index.ph...d&productId=24 do you got full exhaust or just headers or cat-back exhaust? you can get a turbocharger for your also. http://www.turbochargedpower.com/99-04%20Grand%20Am.htm or the easiest way would be get a 4t65e tranny and a 3.8l supercharged engine out of a rivera or a park avenue. that's exactly what i did.

Re: engine modification
This site has intakes and heads that would increase HP.
http://milzymotorsports.com/ It is very expensive for engine modifications. If you do get any heads I would suggest getting the chromoly push rods. Your trany is a 4t60 which is better then the newr 4t40-4t45's which are in N-bodies, they are weak and dont like over 200hp. Also that turbo is not available right now check out my cardomain below, it has my list of mods on the SE sleeper.

The limiter is not something that can just be removed. The only thing you can do is raise the limit, which a stock PCM usually cant be changed perminatly. Though thier are aftermarket PCM's that can be altered for the better IMO , yes a CAI is worth the money.

Re: engine modification
So i found Milzy Motorsports and they have PCM for my car. Now is my car a 3.4 DOHC or just the 3400 series? I dont know i was confused when i saw that?!

Re: engine modification
Your car is the 3400 OHV not the DOHC .
Though after you get the DHP PCM you will need it tuned. A dealer or other qualified shop will have to do this, unless you have some sort of software or the DHP tuner, that is sold at parts for your car, which they also sell the PCM's. This isnt cheap though But when you get it tuned they can raise the Govner.

Re: engine modification
If it is a superchager for the 3.4 it will fit and work jsut as the turbo that is "made to fit" the Grand am if you can find one.
Not some cheapo turbo / super charger kit that needs fabricated and doesnt even come with turbo headers.
