Nissan 300ZX Provence Moulage 1/43

A model with a story.

About 20 years ago I had bought a model of Provence Moulage, scale 1/43 and resin.
It is a Nissan 300ZX Imsa which won the 24h of Daytona in 1994.
Building was pretty smooth, but applying the decals was a fiasco, some stayed hanging, but most of them just came loose.
The result was that the model disappeared somewhere and I continued to collect scale models in this scale.
Until I spoke to friends-builders from Leuven at the beginning of this year whether there was a possibility to redesign the decals of this car.
Guido snapped and saw it as a challenge. Time was irrelevant to me.
In the meantime, I was asked to provide clearer photos of some sponsor logos, which was not a problem for me. Occasionally I was kept informed until I received the final result at our end of year meeting.
Wonderful work has been provided by our friend Guido.
All that remained was the final touch, the fitting of the rearview mirrors and antenna, and fixing it on its bottom plate.
Since the model was already finished, no more varnish could be sprayed over it, so his box is ready.
In the end I am very happy that this model has finally been finished after all those years, albeit with a little help from me friends. 😉
This is my first and only construction project in this scale.
Merci Guido 👍

That is why I also respect those who work a lot with the 1/43 scale

Here the model is on its bottom plate.

Here together with his die-cast-brother from the 24h of Le Mans

Rear spoil brackets also had to stand up, maybe a bit too thick.
The difficulty was that the spoiler was already there and I could not drill a hole for something thinner material. I just had to stick it between them.
But it does not bother me.

And then the box is allowed and he can take his place between the other Nissans

I'm very happy that he's finally finished

Great save, it looks terrific! These were so much fun to watch blasting around Road America. Had the pleasure of talking with Johnny O'Connell about them and he said they were great to drive, lots of power. One still shows up occasionally at vintage events.
