Lancia 037, Hasegawa, 1/24

a modeling year is not complete without a kit in Martini livery, so I built the 1984 Lancia 037 by Hasegawa.

The kit has good and bad sides - some details are nice or as seperate parts instead of moulded in, but on the other hand for example while the front cowling is removable, there is nothing beneth it, except for the lonely cooler. So I added a bit of a frame, filled the big holes to the cockpit and for the photo put a spare tire from the parts box in. The rear cowling was not removable, so I cut it off. I wanted to make it moveable using the hinges of the Studio27 PE set, but the parts were not usable. Parts of the set are nice, like the grill for the rear and the templates, but e.g. even some of the cooler grilles do not fit... The kit decals were also not the best, they might have been a bit old.

I added the usual stuff: some wires, microballed the seats and made belts from Leukosilk and etched parts.

Painted with TS26,29, several Alclad colours and Mr. Super Clear on top, everything was airbrushed, except for the chrome parts which I did using the Molotow Liquid Chrome marker.

That's right - you can enter two models this year, as long as they are not the same "type" per rules.
