Lightbulb

Althought they are difficult to find there are some very impressive versions out there in the wide world. I saw R5 Turbo Maxi with up to 650hp out of a 1.4/1.5l and that was back in '85 If I can find more stuff on the net I'll post it 'cause IMO every car enthusiast should know something about that French rocket

Search for you self if you want an answer before mid march 'cause I wont have time 'till then. Hint: search on french sites they have the best information about this car. Also search for the MAXI version it was the official Rally version from Renault and some guys tuned it, like I sad before, up to 650hp out of a 1.4 or 1.5

Yo Guys!

Surfing aroud the web I saw this forum, and, amazing, you're talking about the Renault 5 GT Turbo.

Well, I have one!
For you interest, the GT has always had a 1.4 engine with a turbo (air or watercooled).

I'm from the Netherlands, where there are a lot of "fans" still driving and tuning the GT.
In England however, there are some people who can't stop tuning their GT. See below!

You're talkin about 650 bhp, I think that is tooooooooo much. This car has 300+ bhp.

Tehj BMW F1 team got 1300hp out of 1.5 L.

that is one MAD 5!!! And a pretty decent price, too. If I had a real job and a bit of money and lived in England, I would snatch that up so quick

And tell us a bit more about your car, please

This is my car.
It's not (yet) like Steve's, but anyway.

My car is a 5 GT Turbo Phase 1, build in 1987.
Engine is from a Ph2 (1991).
Lowered 3,5 cm.
Optima battery.
Green Open Air Filter.
Group N Exhaust system Powersprint (OMP).

And don't forget the Garret T2 Turbo (watercooled).

And, yeah, I like the Clio 3l V6 too, but I can't pay it.

For your info, there are lots of web-sites about the 5 GT (and other fast Renaults).
For example, the forum where I use to go to to chat, ask technical questions, meetings, etc.:
www.renault-tuning.com
An other English site: www.gtturbo.org

Other questions?
Have fun!
