Re: London International Motorshow 2006 << 56k warning >>

Holy Jesus that's a lot of pics! Thanks for saving me 20 quid!

Personally i wasnt too bothered with going. Some of the supercars were nice but you can't really get too close it seems, and living in London, you get to see most of these cars at some point or other, and more importantly for me - hear them. Still, some nice pics and a few interesting concepts there. Honda's blown up F1 car is awesome. Must have taken soooo much time...

One thing. I read that there was a Carrera GT? Didn't see one in your pics...

Thanks

Re: London International Motorshow 2006 << 56k warning >>

I do take a lot of photos, it's mostly out of force of habit from what my work; y'know, model making/site visits/surveys/photo taking... and anyway, if I'm paying to get in, I ain't gonna leave anything out if I can help it.
Yeah, there was a Carrera GT but the supplier for the show had plastered all of their cars with their advert on the windscreen and the car itself wasn't in a very convenient place for photos. You'll notice that some of the supercars are only seen from the rear for this reason.
I can't stand that sort of thing ruining the photo.
(yes, I am an neurotic obsessive compulsive...)

I plan to go back this week sometime, maybe Friday and get some more shots that aren't quite perfect and of some things that I might've missed..... And maybe a shot or two of the dancing girls...

The Lotus and TVR area are probably the best of the lot in terms of the more exotic manufacturers. The other more mainstream manufacturers were more or less showroom displays with guys pegging their brochures on you and getting your details for postal listings. Surprisingly, or perhaps not for the first public day, there were quite a few genuine buyers. I overheard deals being done at Alfa, Mercedes, TVR, Lotus and Honda.

The small Octane Magazine stand was a nice little affair (they're the ones who had the Jota in their area, unfenced off surprisngly. The guy operating the till when I bought a couple of back issues gave me a copy of the current issue free of charge. Very nice man. In hindsight, I think it was the magazine editor but I can't say for certain now as I was there being side-tracked by the lovely female assistants he had on the stand.
In case I missed it back then,
Thanks Mr Octane for the free magazine.

Excellent photo's! I love the Sagaris...

Wow, I can't believe there was an F1 LM! I'd imagine you felt it's presence almost immediatly when you entered the area. (Absolutley amazing, stunning, breath-taking, beautiful, etc machine)

Wow dude, I think Im in love with the Alfa Romeo Brera, now thats what I call autoerotica. Im glad you didnt focus only on the rare cars (F1 LM) and did even the common ones (IS250). Not bad at all.

very nice. The ExCell center didn't seem too crowded; The Jacob-Javits center in New York was crawling with spectators, and it was almost impossible to get a shot of a floor car without someone getting in the way. Also, it seems there were a lot of rare cars on the floor, instead of on display stands. Still though, you're right that it was unfortunate the amount of absentees at the show. Great pictures, thanks!

Re: London International Motorshow 2006 << 56k warning >>

it was actualy quite busy on both days when i got there. however, i made it look empty.... that's the secret of the photographer; patience.

i've got more pics that i've yet to upload but i'll get onto them as soon as I'm done with real world work. I recall taking a couple of the crowds for reference.
