Question Firebird Kick Down Cable

1988 2.8 V6 Firebird.

The little plastic doodad on the top end broke so we need to replace it. I have a new cable but where it disappears into the fuel injection system it seems there's no way to extract it and put in a new one.

The plastic part that broke is so fragile someone must have encountered this before.

Anyone suggest how we can remove old and install new?

Nope it snags under the fuel injector and without dismantling that I can't see what on. I've spent hours on it. If it were really that easy....

Resolved by removing the tp from the fuel injector, replacing the cable and then putting the fuel injector top back. There was no way around this even when we could see the area.
