Through another source I have learned that #072 didn't come to the USA until June of 2000, so I'd say no.

Re: Original delivered to...?

OK - I marked the 7 Ameritech F1's as german ones and removed the entry for #072. Furthermore I added the GTR's to the production sequence list. (thanks to Greg )

Re: Original delivered to...?

Why would you make that change with #042 and #074?

The cars may not have all gone straight from the McLaren factory directly to the USA due to however the Amerispec paperwork had to be handled, but all of the info I have seen on those two cars puts their first owners as Americans. If gerd can prove differently on those two cars that is one thing, but I don't think he he is going to be able to do that and his generalization that they "all came from Germany", doesn't mean they all had German owners when and if they went there to aid in the process of importation to the USA. He certainly has shown he has a unique understanding relating to these cars over the years, but it is safe to say he has an agenda when he posts here and it's not the same one that many of the rest of us have.

Also, the fact that #044 arrived here wearing a UK registration plate seems to imply a lack of a German connection with that car as well.

Re: Original delivered to...?

Well - due to his educated background knowledge, I thought it would be safe to assume so. Furthermore he said clearly that all the Ameritech F1's were 'delivered to Germany'...
Anyway I reinstalled the original entries for #042, #044 and #074 as I think it doesn't hurt and makes sense.

Re: Original delivered to...?

He was an outsider to the Amerispec process - clearly shown by his contempt for the cars even being here. I would never discount everything he says, as he clearly has (or had) some good sources, but the facts and first hand knowledge speak differently sometimes.

Chassis #045 was certainly in Germany at one point, as it was seen for sale at Auto Salon Singen many years back. Now, was it originally owned by a German - perhaps? I have no details on where #055, #062 and #067 started out life, but Germany is fine until proven otherwise.

Re: Original delivered to...?

No offense BRX880, but you haven't been here long enough to know gerd and realize that you have to take what he says with a grain of salt and read between the lines. His info is sometimes misleading (on purpose or by accident) and he has clearly shown that he disproves of the importation process. He has gone after at least 1 friend of mine who brought a car in that was (according to gerd), imported illegally

Re: Original delivered to...?

I'm not offended at all. I just try to complete the list and therefore thought it might be useful to rely on infos which might come from an educated background...

Thanks for that one!
Based on latest infos, 049 should be a New Zealand car, right?

That leaves 028, 052, 057, 064, 066, 072 and 073.
I personally think, that 028 went to Japan originally...

Re: Originally delivered to...?

According to the Gooding & Co auction description for #062, Larry Ellison was its original owner so that one should now be updated to 'USA'.
