Hello everyone....i was just want to see what all defects people have discovered on their 1:12 mclaren's. I Just bought my first one a Dark Silver and have noticed that the left side door on the lower potion has a slightly differnt color silver than the rest of the car. I put mine in a tub of water and it did not grow to full size. I was very disappointed.
Other than that, it's ok. >8^) ER |

I was hoping that Scott's Miracle-Grow would resolve the issue on size and get me a full scale version. My next step is to actually bury it in the yard with a nice layer of topsoil.
I'll have to dig mine up to see. (No, not literally.) |

Re: Defects on your 1:12 mclaren
Hello everybody.
I have had 3 different 1/12 Dark silvers. I bought them in england. one after another, until i found one with better door paints. I'm very into the details so every single detail has to be perfect. Then i sold the other 2 mclarens in EBAY. around last year. that's a problem that minichamps did not consider, until a couple of yuears after we are noticing those defects. i think that the paint does something to the plastic peace of the door, or the plastic does something to the paint, and it simply looks different. I understand how you feel. I felt like that twice. and i had to spend more than 2000 euros on them until i found the perfect one for me. Because of that deffect, i will never take the risk to buy another dark grey. i'm concentrating on the red one and yellow, which are very kool to have. i have a dark grey and a blue one. try to show the pictures, and i will take a look a them. Re: Defects on your 1:12 mclaren
I have had one with paint peeling off the wheels (silver car). This is a known defect with some cars. One car has a slight bubbling between the clear engine cover and the black underneath (green car). The dark silver one and the yellow one are perfect. The yellow one did arrive with what appeared to be a broken front suspension, but I was able to pop it back together and it is fine.
I now have the best of all, even though the doors don't open, which just arrived: the 1/12 orange LM. |

No no! Its not a question of trust. I have no doubt the model is superb! Im still waiting for mine too. I just want to see more pic to see every details. The seller sent me a couple of more pic and it is absolutely stunning! But one thing, does the model have like this "sticker" on the top of the windshield with "F1 LM McLaren F1 LM" on it? I know on the 1/18, the letter are white but on the real car, the letters are like grey or clear. oh and Thorst, did you receive your black LM yet? Id like to see how does it look like. I just can't wait to have mine!!! another question here, it is mine first 1/12 model, do you guys know any good display case for 1.12 model? |

Glad to hear they arrived safely! Please explain or "verify" that the seller is a professional guy to deal with as people have a hard time showing trust. |

Re: Defects on your 1:12 mclaren
Mine is currently in transit. The seller and I exchanged several emails back and forth prior to the sale and I am not concerned. Also, I know our buddy Thorst wouldn't steer us wrong.
My only worry - and the seller has limited control on this - is that it arrives safely and in one piece. I've had several UT 1/18ths damaged during shipping, either due to poor handling or in some cases inadequate packaging. It sucks... >8^) ER |
